Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of family-of-origin differentiation on married women¡¯s self-differentiation, marital conflict coping behavior, and couple intimacy.
Methods: Subjects of this study were 700 married women living in C province. A survey was used to collect the data, and structural equation modeling was performed to analyze the data.
Results: The results of this study revealed that subjects who reported high family projection showedless sensitivity to others, whereas those subjects reporting emotional cut-off and family regression reflected lower self-awareness. This study suggests that women¡¯s self-awareness significantly influences rational coping behavior.
Conclusions: This study suggests that increased self-awareness and rational coping behavior during marital conflict canimprove couple intimacy.
